The Morocco national football team continued to make history in the World Cup, where they strengthened their impressive run in the group stage with a 1-0 win over Scotland on Friday, as part of the third group matches of the 2026 World Cup. The Atlas Lions raised their score to 4 points from two matches, bringing them close to qualifying for the next round, after they had started their campaign in the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Brazil. Coach Mohamed Wahbi continued his strong start with the Morocco national team, achieving his fourth win against 3 draws, in his first 7 matches as head of the Atlas Lions' technical staff, thus equaling the start made by his predecessor Walid Regragui. Thanks to the win over Scotland, the Moroccan national team maintained its unbeaten record for the sixth consecutive match in the World Cup group stage, achieving 3 wins and 3 draws. Morocco became the African team with the longest unbeaten streak in the history of the World Cup group stage, surpassing Cameroon, which achieved a streak of 5 matches between the 1982 and 1990 editions, and Senegal, which reached the same number between the 2002 and 2018 editions. It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team achieved its best achievement in the history of the World Cup, during the previous Qatar edition, when it occupied fourth place as the first Arab and African team.
