The coach is reportedly set to replace Ayoub El Kaabi with Sefian Ben Youssef, who joined Al Ahly from Moroccan club Maghreb Fez. Ben Youssef impressed in his debut season with Maghreb Fez, scoring 20 goals and providing two assists in 31 appearances. He made his debut for the Atlas Lions in May, scoring two goals in a friendly against Burundi. Ousmane Camara, a 24-year-old winger, is also set to join the Atlas Lions. Camara played for Watford in the English Premier League last season and helped the Atlas Lions win the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he was named the tournament's best player. He made his debut for the Atlas Lions in a friendly against Burundi and scored one goal. Yasser Zakri, a 22-year-old winger, is also set to join the Atlas Lions. Zakri impressed in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring six goals and providing two assists in seven appearances. The Atlas Lions return to action after a 2-0 win over France in their final match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, on July 9, 2026. They earned three points from a possible four and finished the group stage with six goals scored and three conceded in five matches. The team will now focus on the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they will face Gabon and Lesotho in Group A.
